Here's the deal:ġ) Server is down right now. Well, I have not forgotten about you guys trying to help. Then reboot the server so the chkdsk will run. When asked if you want to schedule the chkdsk to run on next reboot, type Y. If it asks you if you want to dismount the drive, type N. You definitely need to run chkdsk /r on each drive. If you are getting CRC errors, I can almost guarantee you have a failing hard drive. I have 5 files that are reporting this error in the same folder (they happen to be VIA drivers, but I figure that is irrelavant). Something about something will be lost, so I said N. I tried running CHKDSK on a few disks in cmd prompt, but I was being asked some questions I didn't understand. I've done all that.I tried to delete them using cmd prompt (del d:\shares\users\offending folder) and it says "Are you sure Y/N?" So, I type Y (YES I'm sure!), but the file (folder in this case) is still there. I keep seeing 1) submit a bug report (which I did, I think, on MS Connect) and 2)turn off duplication, AV software etc. How can I delete these files? I've read other posts, and as far as I can tell, no one really knows.
